Jesus Christ demands much of his followers in terms of honesty, sincerity and service of their neighbour. His life resonates with mercy and compassion; he insists that they forgive one another their failings. He teaches with fearlessness and authority convinced that he is the Son of God, sent to reveal the face of his heavenly Father to the world.
If you do not accept this, you must wonder if he was delusional, a schizophrenic, or that his disciples cobbled together this remarkable story. Yet he still strides across history, even today a figure whose teaching cannot be ignored except at the price of human diminishment and impoverishment.Catholics and Jesus
