You are invited to Christmas Mass
You are invited to Christmas Mass
Christmas is a joyful time when we gather with loved ones, share delicious meals, and exchange gifts. For Christians, it is also when we pause to remember the true “reason for the season” — the birth of Jesus, our God and Saviour. ✨
We’re so glad you are considering joining us for Christmas Mass this year. Our churches are never more alive than when we come together to celebrate the hope, peace, joy and love that Jesus brings into the world. You are warmly welcome — whether you come often, occasionally, or for the very first time.
Finding a Christmas Mass Near You
You can easily locate your nearest Catholic parish and view its Christmas Mass times in three simple ways:
1️⃣ Search online using Google Maps
Type the name of your town or suburb followed by “Catholic parish”.
This will usually bring up the parish website, where you can find:
Christmas Mass times
location and parking details
contact information
Google Maps or Apple Maps can also guide you directly to the church.
2️⃣ Use the Catholic Mass Times App
Search “Catholic Mass Times” in your app store.
This app helps you find nearby churches and view regular Mass times.
(Please note: some parishes may update Christmas schedules closer to the day.)
3️⃣ Check your Diocese’s Christmas Mass Directory
Many dioceses publish special Christmas Mass listings each year.
Find your diocese below:
| Diocese | Link to Christmas Mass Times |

| Auckland Diocese | Auckland — Christmas Masses 2025 |
| Hamilton Diocese | Hamilton — Christmas Mass 2025 |
| Palmerston North Diocese | Palmerston North — Mass Times |
| Wellington Diocese | Wellington — Christmas Day Mass Times |

| Dunedin Diocese | Dunedin — Christmas Mass Info |
If you live elsewhere, simply use the “search by parish name” method above.
If you can’t attend in person
Unable to leave home or care for someone? You can still join in spiritually. Shine TV will be broadcasting a Christmas Mass from the Archdiocese of Wellington on December 25 at 3:00 pm. The broadcast will also be available on-demand through Shine TV’s website and app.
Wherever you are this Christmas, we hope you feel connected to our parish communities. We would love to celebrate with you!
What to Expect at Mass
If it has been a long time since you’ve been to church — or this is your very first Mass — please know you are so welcome, just as you are.
Mass is a simple but beautiful time of:
- Gathering as a community
- Listening to readings from the Bible
- Reflecting on God’s love for us
- Offering prayers together
- Receiving a blessing or Holy Communion*
You don’t need to know when to stand, sit, or kneel — simply follow the lead of those around you. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you are comfortable with.
There is no dress code, and no expectations.
Just come with an open heart. ❤️
*If you’re not Catholic, or unsure what to do during Communion, you can remain seated or come forward and receive a simple blessing with your arms crossed. Our priests love to offer blessings.
You Belong Here
Christmas can stir up many emotions — joy, but also grief, uncertainty, or loneliness. However you are arriving this Christmas, please know:
Mass is for everyone. Jesus welcomes you, and so do we.
Our hope is that you feel at home, whether you join us every week or it’s been a long time.
We would be honoured to celebrate with you this Christmas! 🎄🌟
